Gennesis Veliz

My name is Gennesis Veliz also known as Genny. Born as a first generation child and raised in Manhattan, NY. Growing up translating for my parents and elder siblings drew me into having a passion towards teaching. As a child I played with dolls as students and me as the teacher. After my parents divorced I went from one home to another transferring to different schools every other year. At the age of 16 my stepmother who was abusive towards me kicked me out of their home. After being homeless and being at my worse I met someone who encouraged me to get my High School Diploma. Also, that I could become a statistic or break my unstable families cycle. My life has changed over the last 5 years taking me from NJ to Orlando in seek of a new life. I rec’d my HS Diploma, attending Rasmussen college and recently completed Cosmetology school becoming a licensed full specialist. Giving back to the community is dear to my heart. I don’t want to just inspire young children, but to inspire everyone and specially abused and molested women. I think that lending a hear is one of the best therapy as well as making them feel special. I love to make people feel beautiful and boost their self-esteem. I thank God for the talent given to me where now I can give back. I manage my own small suite salon at West and Kennedy in Winter park, FL. It would be an honor to be part of beauty bakerie makeup family. I would love to continue to inspire and help young ladies like me to always believe in themselves. My goal is to help boost their self-esteem and confidence, so that they can feel comfortable in their own skin.
