Hello Lovelies,
Did you know that there are almost 2 million cats, dogs, and small animals in households in the U.S.? That’s a lot of love for our furry friends! Because of our love of animals, mindfulness about their safety and well-being is growing by leaps and bounds. No matter how small the critter, it seems like everyone wants to prevent senseless suffering of animals.
We can make a difference when it comes to creating a cruelty-free cosmetics world. If our love of animals extends into our buying habits, we can make the world a better place one liquid lipstick at a time. As of today, roughly 600 beauty brands worldwide are recognized as cruelty-free, and more and more countries are preventing animal testing for cosmetics and beauty products.
Twenty-five years ago, it wasn’t quite so easy to find cruelty-free cosmetics. Consumers didn’t know how common animal testing was, but what a world of difference two decades makes! Consumers, including our Sweets, are now actively seeking out cruelty-free cosmetics brands.
It’s important to know what you’re applying to your skin. Reading labels or checking out a company’s website makes it easy to find luxury products, drugstore brands, and innovative creations that are all cruelty-free. If you’re not sure about a brand, look for the cute little cruelty-free bunny, or contact the company.
The moral of the story is this: awareness brings change! The world isn’t perfect, but we’ve made huge leaps to replace animal testing with better and kinder methods. Cruelty-free cosmetics are becoming part of the mainstream.
As you dab on that Lip Whip or line your eyes with a sweep of Gelato, won’t you feel better knowing no animal was harmed in making you gorgeous? Give your pup or kitty cat a big ol’ kiss the next time you’re out the door looking fabulous. And know that not a single four-legged friend was harmed to create your fierce look!
Cruelty-Free Kisses,
Beauty Bakerie
